June’s Event Season

Read Time: 4-5 mins

Hey Reader

June is upon us, and with it comes a flurry of events across Europe. From London to Berlin to the sun-soaked shores of Cannes, opportunities abound. Attending an event without a plan is like walking past dollars to pick up cents…it doesn’t actually make sense!

I’m the worst. I get super excited about events whether I’m speaking or simply attending, only to feel overwhelmed as the event approaches. Let's change that narrative. Here's how you can approach this event season with intention and purpose.

Define Your Purpose

Before you even step foot into the venue, ask yourself:

  • Why am I attending? Is it to network, find partners, seek customers, or gather insights?
  • What does success look like? Is it 10 new connections, 25 meaningful conversations, or a breakthrough idea?

Setting clear objectives will guide your actions and help you measure ROI.

Plan Your Follow-Up

The event doesn't end when you leave the venue. Within 48 hours:

  • Reach out to new connections with personalised messages.
  • Summarise key takeaways and how they apply to your work.
  • Schedule follow-up meetings or calls to deepen relationships.

Remember, the real value often comes from post-event actions.

Food for Thought

Attending events is more than just being present; it's about being purposeful. Reflect on:

  • What did I learn?
  • Who did I meet, and how can we collaborate?
  • How will I apply these insights moving forward?

Taking the time to process and act on these reflections can turn event experiences into tangible growth.

Let's Connect

I'll be attending SXSW London, Cannes Lions, and speaking at RevOps AF in Berlin. If you're planning to be at any of these events, let's connect! Reach out, and let's make the most of this event season together.
